GR High School Christmas concert

The GR Fine Arts Department presented the High School Christmas concert on Monday, December 9 at 7 p.m. The concert was held in the high school auditorium.

The band was led by director Keith Reynolds. The concert began with the brass choir playing Christmas Serenade. The high school band then joined and played an arrangement called Christmas, Here We Come! with songs Here we Come A-Caroling, Over the River and Through the Woods, I Saw Three Ships, Deck the Halls and The Holly and the Ivy. The next arrangement Home for Christmas included the songs Let It Snow, I'll Be home for Christmas and Home for the Holidays. The last arrangement entitled An Old-Fashioned Christmas included the songs Joy to the World, It Came Upon the Midnight Clear, Christ Was Born on Christmas Day, Silent Night and Jingle Bells.

The GR singers led by choir director Amanda Bridges and accompanied by UNI sophomore Michael Gookin sang Gettin' in the Mood For Christmas and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. The cantori choir performed In the Bleak Midwinter, Sleigh Bells and Ave Maria. The combined women's chorus presented the song Go Where I send Thee! To end the program the concert choir sang We Need a Little Christmas, Et In Terra Pax, Mary Sat A-Rockin' and Sleigh Ride.
