Story time will start up for the school year beginning on the day after Labor Day, September 3 at 10:00. Cherie Eckhoff will do the first program on owls. Story time will continue on Tuesdays at 10:00 during the school year. No registration is needed.

New books this week include one given by John and Carol Denice Petersen: Jayson by Ruth Adams Lee. The author is Carol's grandmother, and the manuscript to the book was written in the 1940s or 1950s, reflecting her life growing up in Flint Hills Kansas. This is a fiction book based on some real events. It is illustrated by the author's great granddaughter, Laura Ma Lee Shapiro Olsen.

Other new fiction books are: Little Wolves by James Thomas Maltman, The World We Found by Thrity Umrigar, The Tattered Quilt by Ruth Brunstetter, Paper Angels by Billy Coffey, The Last Kiss Goodbye by Karen Robards, Buried in a Book by Lucy Arlington, The Kill List by Frederick Forsyth, Visitation Street by Ivy Pochoda and Rose Harbor in Bloom by Debbie Macomber.

New books for children include: Kitty Cat, Kitty Cat are You Going to School? by Bill Martin Jr., The Very Fairy Princess Teacher's Pet by Julie Andrews and Emma Walton Hamilton, and Click, Clack, Boo! by Doreen Cronin.
