First Presbyterian Church of Grundy Center and First Presbyterian Church of Reinbeck will host a joint outdoor Cowboy Style Worship event at the Elmwood Park Shelter at the west side of Reinbeck off of College Street 10 a.m. Sunday, August 11. Rev. Sheryl Campbell, Parish Associate of both churches, will be the guest speaker. Guests are welcome, and all may be surprised to see Roy Rogers, Dale Evans and Trigger present in a very special way. People may dress cowboy/western or regular/casual as you prefer.
Marilyn Moore and others from ASPIRE will bring Cody and Pixie, miniature horses who love to be petted and groomed. ASPIRE is a therapeutic riding program based in Waterloo that provides benefits to individuals with disabilities through animal-assisted activities and outreach programs.
The worship service is open to the public. A special offering will be received to help further ASPIRE's missions with the disabled, brain-injured, Women of Hope, and their other ministries. Also, provisions will be made to forward regular church offerings to the church of your choice. A pot-luck meal will be served immediately following.
Marilyn Moore, director of ASPIRE Therapeutic Riding Program, will share about their vision and work.
