Christmas spectacular

December 2, 2012
Shelby Yates - G-R student , Reinbeck Courier

What would be the best way to spread Christmas cheer? Well, how about a community wide Christmas program? That's exactly what will take place this year! Sadie Walton and Shelby

Yates are two Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School students that came up with the awesome idea

to create a City of Reinbeck Christmas Spectacular! The event will take place on Sunday, December 9th at 6:00 p.m. at the Reinbeck United Methodist Church. The whole town is invited to come and enjoy a collection of Christmas skits performed by children of all ages!

The show will include the all-traditional story, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, performed by children grades Preschool-2nd grade. The story is brought to life through intriguing narrative tellings, live sound effects, and adorable actions. Santa Claus even makes a special appearance! It's sure to bring a smile to everyone's faces!

We're all familiar with the well-told story, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. In the piece, "A Seussified Christmas Carol", Dr. Seuss gets ahold of this classic tale and adds his own little twist. In this whimsical, rhyming one-act play, children grades 3rd-7th will bring wonderful cheer through this re-inventive version of a holiday favorite. Everything is a little better with a touch of Seuss character!

No show would be complete without the true meaning of Christmas being told. Our show will wrap-up with The Nativity Story performed by all the children ages Preschool-7th grade, and narrated by junior and senior high kids. We must never forget what this special time of year

is all about-the birth of baby Jesus. These kids will touch your heart, and will be the highlight to your Christmas season! Mark your calendars, and we'll see you there! You won't want to miss this momentous evening of Christmas cheer!
