New Grundy County Medical Reserve Corps to support community efforts during emergencies and other times of community need

Grundy County is seeking individuals who are interested in joining and volunteering with the Grundy County Medical Reserve Corps. A Medical Reserve Corps is made up of volunteers who assist in preparing for and responding to public health emergencies. The MRC may also be called upon to help during the year with routine events (e.g. Annual Flu Clinic, Health Fair, or Public Health Outreach).

MRC Unit Coordinator, Chris Bare, shared that "We are very excited about the recognition of the Grundy County Medical Reserve Corps. It will be an amazing experience and benefit to the county to have excited and trained volunteers ready to provide emergency preparedness education and to serve Grundy County in times of emergency or disaster."

The Grundy County MRC is seeking the following volunteers who may be Medical, Public, and Mental Health Professionals, Volunteer Coordinators, people who are interested in organizing meetings and developing and maintaining the Medical Reserve volunteers, Clerical Support, greeters, registrars, general administrative help, security for traffic flow, parking, etc, transportation, and child care for other volunteers.

Volunteering with the Grundy County Medical Reserve Corps allows you to serve your family, friends, neighbors and loved ones in your town and beyond, be part of a team trained to provide medical, public, and mental health support during an emergency, and participate in initiatives that enhance and strengthen emergency preparedness and public health such as vaccination and health education programs
