Rebels roughed up by Turkey Valley

GLADBROOK — The Gladbrook-Reinbeck football team lost its second-straight game to start the season by falling to Turkey Valley on Friday night, 48-12. This is the first time the Rebels have started 0-2 since the 1997 season. Jackson Kiburis led G-R offensively with 65 yards on the ground and 40 yards through the air on 2-for-4 passing with a touchdown. Colton Clark had 44 yards rushing with a touchdown and Eli Thede had the only two receptions for 40 yards and a score. Lane Bach and Sam Mussig led the way defensively with 12 1/2 total tackles. Ethan Leibold went 5-for-9 for 69 yards and a touchdown at quarterback for the Trojans (2-0), while Dylan Elsbernd had 105 yards on the ground and a score.
