Mr. & Mrs. Jon Bystricky are parents of a daughter born May 7.

Mr. & Mrs. Dennis Bern will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary later this year.

Shane Peters, son of Mr. & Mrs. Craig Peters of Gladbrook, received a bachelor's degree from the College of Arts.

Farmers Cooperative buys Ultra Flow firm in Morrison.

Al Bachman presented a $500 check to Dorothy Keith to help with costs of the new nature area at the Elementary School.

Helen Clausman, 90, died May 22 at Maple Manor Center in Aplington.

Virginia Thompson, 75, died May 23 at Sunrise Care Center in Traer.

Ruth DeBerg, 75, died at the Grundy Hospital.

Wesley Freed, 77, Grundy Center, died May 24 at Allen Hospital

Leslie Matthews, 54, Grundy Center, died May 25 at home.

Mr. & Mrs. David Volkens are parents of a son born May 22 in Cleveland, Ohio.


JUNE 4, 1987

Jodi Kielly and Kendall Dinsdale were married on May 2.

Mr. & Mrs. Ron Reab, Waterloo, are parents of a daughter born May 26.

Mr. & Mrs. David Burdick are parents of a daughter born May 30.

Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Huisman are parents of a daughter born May 27.

Samuel Crowe, 74, formerly of Reinbeck, died May 26.

Michelle Rennie, Waterloo and Kevin Volkens were marred April 24.


JUNE 2, 1977

Cornelius Schmidt, Dike, received a check for $300 from Ernie's Bankroll drawing.

Larry Cox & family will be moving to Scranton, Iowa where Larry has accepted a position as jr. high school principal and athletic director.

Mr. & Mrs. Wayne Downey will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on June 10.

Teresa Casey & John Parmeter were married June 4.

Lincoln Savings Bank has a new banking service beginning June 10. A walk-up window will be opened.


JUNE 8, 1967

Objectors continue to object to the smell & noise at Eggtown which houses 15,000 chickens.

Patricia Reynolds of Pittsburgh, N.Y. and Ron Bern were married June 10.

Members of the Reinbeck Town Council have applied to State Board of Health for approval of their plan to erect a lift station and considerable sewer extensions for the northeast portion of Reinbeck.

Moeller & Walter new truck and cement mixer of Grundy Center flipped into a excavation when the side caved in. Jerry DeVries, driver of the truck was no injured. Damage to the truck was $2,200.
