Dain Mawdsley died at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines following a car crash on Hwy 63 on Jan. 28.

Mr. & Mrs. Glenn Ferguson, Walnut Creek, Calif. formerly of Reinbeck, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 19.

LaVonne King, 76, Dinsdale, died Jan. 29 at Covenant Medical Center.

Helen Shine, 76, Conrad, died Jan. 27 at the nursing home in Conrad.

Doris Clark, 77, Conrad, died Jan. 27 at her home.

George Storjohann, 92, Gladbrook, died Feb. 3 at Grundy Care Center.

Barbara Kopsa, 57, Conrad, died Jan. 3 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames.

Lyal Owens, 57, Traer, died Jan. 30 at his home in Traer.

FEB. 17, 1977

Irwin Staker, 67, Reinbeck, died Feb. 13 in Mesa, Ariz. after having a severe stroke.

DOT recently let contracts for the reconstruction of Hwy 63 in Grundy & Black Hawk Counties.

Mr. & Mrs. Bruce Keller, Dike, are parents of a daughter born Feb. 13.

First traffic fatality in 1977 from Grundy County was William McBride, 80, Dike. He died of head injuries received in a two car collision east of Grundy Center on Hwy 175.

Mr. & Mrs. Francis Moye celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Selmer Skare, 67, retired as Lincoln postmaster. Vernon Klosterboer has been named as new postal chief.

Kelley Hardware quitting business begins on Feb. 18.

Three Reinbeck wrestlers qualified to move onto District-Kent Hoeppner, Brent Coulter and Mike Schick.

Paul Wieck, 72, Traer, died of a heart attack on Feb. 12 in Key West, Fla.

Mr. & Mrs. James Koch, Morrison, are parents of twin boys born Feb. 9.

Mr. & Mrs. James Murphy will observe their 25th wedding anniversary on Feb. 12.
