Jr. Grundy Center Development Alliance appoint new board.

Andie Nichols, CPC case manager, received her five year service award.

6th graders students hosted a wax museum for other students from other grades. The subject of the Museum was ancient Egypt and a display included pyramids and students posing as ancient Egyptians historical figures.

Grundy County Memorial Hospital receives two donations from GNS & a donation from the Aquila for a cautery unit.

Mr. & Mrs. Bernie Babinat, Sugarland, Texas are parents of a daughter born Dec. 7.


DEC. 19, 1996

Reinbeck Fire Dept. has a new 1996 Diesel Pumper Truck capable of pumping 1,250 gallons of water per minute with 1,000 gallons carried on board.

Mr. & Mrs. Ward French are retiring from the funeral business effective Dec. 31.

Gaylord & Martin Schelling have established a scholarship fund to honor their mother Vonice Schelling.

LaWayna Claussen, 77 died at the Grundy Hospital on Dec. 16.

Loney Meyer, 86, Reinbeck, died Dec. 2 at Allen Hospital.

Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Storjohann, Gladbrook, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Dec. 29.

Carolyn Ackman,, 61, Monticello, formerly of Reinbeck, died Dec. 19.

Claire Verly, 56, Grundy Center, died Dec. 15.

Glenn Cone, 82, Grundy Center, died Dec. 16.


DEC. 30, 1976

Ken Roberts reopened a bakery outlet at 117 Broad St.

Former area cattle feeder and farmer, Walter Paulsen, 77, died at his home in Ark. on Dec. 11.

Mr. & Mrs. Jim Hartsock, Wellman, are parents of a daughter born Dec. 23.

Alvena Storjohann, 88, Gladbrook, died Dec. 21.

Four road projects were approved including a new bridge on T-55.


DEC. 29, 1966

Reinbeck Firemen get two new "service air" units equipped with 30 minutes oxygen tanks.

Trial on Egg Town is in progress. Area citizens have filed suit to halt construction.

Lyman Petersen, Lincoln, was injured when his pickup overturned near the Elwood Miller farm.

Gilbert Martens to have a complete closing out sale on Jan. 6.

The first 6" snow fall on Dec. 24 with temps near zero.
