News from the Blackhawk Nighthawks

October 30, 2016
Reporter Lily Heinzel , Reinbeck Courier

The Blackhawk Nighthawks 4-H Club held their regular monthly meeting Sunday, October 16th. Emma Fleshner led the Pledge of Allegiance. Our role call question was, "What is your favorite Halloween candy?"

The club had some new members and possible members attending, so we went around saying our names, ages, and what we would like to learn in 4-H. Secretary and treasurer reports were given. We are selling Yonkers Community Day coupon books which can be used from November 9th to 12th. We talked about our 4-H tree for Miracle on Main. Our tree will be in Lincoln Savings Bank with tree set up on Wednesday, November 9th. We did some brainstorming for a December activity and tentatively planned a baking day with Glenda Billerbeck Wednesday, December 7th. Everyone was reminded of the County Halloween Party & Awards Celebration on Saturday, October 22nd. We were also reminded to register for the new year if you haven't done that yet. The registration deadline to get a discount on the sign up is October 31st. Registration is per member. On November 1st the fee rises. We closed the business meeting with the 4-H Pledge. Emma Fleshner led the activity of making Christmas ornaments for our Miracle on Main tree with member's pictures in the center with member's faces in the center.

Anyone interested in joining the Black Hawk Nighthawks 4-H Club, can talk to any of our members or leaders (Mardel Brocket; Glenda Billerbeck) or contact Andrea at the Grundy County Extension Office.
