DES MOINES - Iowans seeking support for arts projects and greater stability for their cultural organizations are encouraged to apply for two grant programs offered by the Iowa Arts Council.

Artists, nonprofit organizations, communities and schools can apply for an Iowa Arts Council Art Project Grant or a Cultural Trust Stability Grant by Nov. 1. Grant information and guidelines are available online at

Art Project Grant

The Art Project Grant program offers $1,000 to $10,000 to individual artists, non-profit organizations, schools, tribal councils and government agencies. Designed to create opportunities for the arts to flourish in Iowa, the program invests in projects that positively impact the vitality of the arts in the state, demonstrate public value and support IAC's 2016-2017 funding priorities, which include job creation, arts learning and rural arts access.

Cultural Trust Stability Grants

Cultural Trust Stability Grants help Iowa cultural organizations make measurable progress toward goals of fiscal stability and best practices in organizational strategic planning and management. Applicants may apply for up to $2,500 and are required to provide $1 of matching funds for every dollar requested.

For more information, visit or call the Iowa Arts Council at 515-281-5111. The Iowa Arts Council is a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs.
