Second ranked Rebels rough up BGM

BROOKLYN - The Class A No. 2 Gladbrook-Reinbeck football team continued its dominance with a 42-14 win against BGM on the road Friday night. The Rebels (5-0, 3-0) jumped out to a pair of scores in the first and second quarters, making it a 28-0 lead at the break.

Quarterback Hunter Lott was effective and precise throughout the game, going 7-for-10 with 246 yards passing and two touchdowns. He paired his passing performance with 15 carries for 74 yards and another score.

Parker Bown led the team in carries with 17, running for 44 yards and two touchdowns.

Gage Murty led the receiving corps with four catches for 177 yards and a touchdown. The other three receivers - Walker Thede, Bown and Matt Roeding - combined for 69 yards and one touchdown (Thede).

The Rebels and Bears (2-3, 2-1) traded scores in the third and fourth quarters. Thomas Mussig led the Rebel defense with seven total tackles, five of his own and 1.5 tackles for loss. Thede was a perfect 4-for-4 on his extra points.

G-R hosts Grand View Christian on Friday night for its next District 5 challenge.
