Award winning makeover show films near Lincoln on the Shawn Kibe residence.

The Kibe's lost their home and all their belongings in a fire in late Dec. 2004. Extreme makeover came in and built a new home, an award winning reality T.V. program filmed the building of a new home for the Kibe family.

G-R voters elect Kelly Dinsdale and Val Ehlers to the G-R school board.

Eloise Keller celebrated her 80th birthday this past week-end.

Members elect Don McLean, Larry Rohach and Ernie Podhasky to Board of Directors of the Grundy Co. REC.

Reinbeck Courier begins its 119th year of service. Beginning in 1878 the newspaper has had the following names: Argus, Herald, Times, Standard, Tribune and finally the Courier in 1892.

Robert Halden, 62, Sumner, formerly of Reinbeck, died Sept. 4 at U of I Hospital in Iowa City.

Lora Mullnix, 74, Gladbrook, died Sept. 3 at Westbrook Acres.

Marguerite Skare, 87, Overland Park, Kan. formerly of Lincoln, died Sept. 1.

Mr. & Mrs. Tote Randall are parents of a daughter born Sept. 11.

Mr. & Mrs. Tim Patterson of Sierra Vista, Ariz. are parents of a daughter born Sept. 14.

Elizabeth Stephan returns from an eight week stay in Germany as an YFU exchange student.

SEPT. 15, 1976

Paul Doddema was killed in a motorcycle accident on T-55 north of Dike when his cycle went out of control and skidded 240 feet.

The Reinbeck Community School Board met for reorganization following the election of Wm. Heithoff, Jr. and re-election of Don Billerbeck.

50 YEARS AGO

SEPT. 22, 1966

Bea Greiner was injured in an auto accident north of Traer on Sept. 14.

Don Schildroth was re-elected to Reinbeck Board of Education.

Dallas Larsen was appointed Justice of the Peace for the Reinbeck area by Grundy County Board of Supervisors.

Lincoln Coop at Lincoln is erecting an additional 160,000 bushel capacity storage facility.
