Sara Freese & John Hopkins will be married Sept. 23 at the United Church of Christ in Reinbeck.

Mr. & Mrs. Ernst Petersen will observe their 60th wedding anniversary on Sept. 6.

Mr. & Mrs. Matt Anderson, North Liberty, are parents of a son born Aug. 14.

Lillian Rickert, 83, Reinbeck, died Aug. 21 at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer.


AUGUST 29, 1996

Grundy Co. Sheriff Rick Penning retires two K-9 unit dogs.

17th annual Pioneer Craft Fair set for Sept. 8 in Morrison.

Ruby Lau, 86, formerly of Reinbeck and Morrison, died Aug. 25 in Urbandale, Iowa.

Mr. & Mrs. Ernst Petersen observed 50th wedding anniversary.

Carol Short and Ron Goebel were married June 1 in Waterloo.

Teresa Schildroth & David VanSickle will be married on Sept. 7.

Aric Stickfort is now an EMT in West Des Moines.

SEPT. 2, 1976

Mr. & Mrs. Jack Wittgreve are parents of a son born Aug. 30.

Norma Lenius, 50, Reinbeck, received multiple injuries when her car struck a bridge on the Zaneta Road.

Six runaways from Quackerdale Home, near New Providence, were picked up in Grundy Center after walking nearly 20 miles.
