Attention Kids: Can you earn a gold medal? Qualify for a gold medal by completing any of the following in the library summer reading Olympics challenge: Weightlifting medal: Read a big book (over 100 pages) if third grade or under-read over 200 pages if over 3rd grade; read a book with multiple stories if pre-K or under. Marathon Medal:Read for 1 hour straight; 30 minutes for pre-K. Triathalon Medal: read 3 different kinds of books: mystery/suspense, true life, non-fiction, sports etc.Relay Race Medal:read a series of books (at least 3)like Berenstain Bears books or Magic School Bus, etc. Pentathlon Medal:read 5 magazines. Stop in the library and pick up the information. Challenge is on from August 5 to August 21.

New books at the library this week include:

Nonfiction: The Boys in the Boat: nine Americans and their quest for Gold at the 1936 Berlin Olympics by Daniel Brown.

Fiction: Killer Look by Linda Fairstein, Deadly Fate by Heather Graham, The American Girl by Kate Horsley, Wedding Dreams by Debbie Macomber, Arizona Wild by Linda Lael Miller, Chase and Let's Play Make-Believe by James Patterson, Abducted, Almost Dead, A Dark Mind, Dead Weight, Evil Never Dies and Obsessed all by Theresa Ragan; The Girls of August by Anne Rivers Siddons.

Large print: The Year We Turned Forty by Liz Fenton and The Center of the World by Jacqueline Sheehan.
