Dollars for Scholars host 9th annual 5K Run/Walk.

Cliff & Kim Moye were winners of the John Deere 4020 tractor raffle held by the Pool Fundraising Committee.

Kristen Siert & Marshall Murphy will be married Dec. 30 at Steamboat Rock.

Audra Larsen & Adam Heineman are planning a wedding for Aug 6. to be held at the Rotary Reserve in Cedar Falls.

Todd Messenbrink receives his 5 year service award. He is employed by the Road Dept.


JULY 11, 1996

Robert Neil, 74, Waterloo, died July 5 at his home.

Erna Kelley, 75, Waterloo, died July 5 at Allen Hospital.

Margaret Siemens, 83, Gladbrook, died July 2 at home.

John Davie, 86, Grundy Center, died July 4 at Grundy Care Center.

Winners of the beard growing contest were: Vince Moye, Don Graventa, Carl Roeding & Jim Westergaard.


JULY 12, 1986

More than 100 men & women were on hand to apply for 25+ jobs soon to be available at Reinbeck's new Industry-Harmony Food.

Mr. & Mrs. Brent Scheuman are happy to announce the arrival of Alex Kim. Alex was born Feb. 24, 1986 and arrived in the U.S. on June 19.

Mr. & Mrs. Dean Pettit, Grundy Center, are parents of a daughter born July 3.

Mr. & Mrs. Marshall Harms, Cedar Rapids, are parents of a son born July 6.

Mr. & Mrs. Allen Thede are parents of a son born July 10.


JULY 22, 1976

Gary Kazragis is a new member in the Rickert & Thompson Law Office.

Marlene Peters scored a hole-in-one on hole #9 at Oakleaf Country Club.

Robert Bern, son of Mr. & Mrs. Bert Bern, senior engineering student at the University of Kansas, was named to the honor roll of the spring semester of 1976.

Mr. & Mrs. Bruce Nelson, Cedar Falls, are parents of a son born July 15.

Tim Robinson, a recent graduate of UNI in Cedar Falls, has accepted a teaching position at the Diagonal School District.

Harry Petersen, 86, Reinbeck, died July 19.

Walt Folkerts, 61, received minor injuries in a collision in Hudson. He was treated at a local hospital and released.


JULY 21, 1966

Rev. M.L. Dowden has resigned as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church.

Laura Brumm, 84, died at Grundy Hospital.

Tom Folkerts is home from Vietnam after serving 11 months as a combat Marine.

Workmen begin digging footings for Parkview Manor Nursing Home.

Dutch elm is taking many of the big elm trees at the park.

Linda Korte & Al Rhoades were married July 16.
