Vic Robinson celebrates 93rd birthday with a motorcycle ride courtesy of her neighbor Rick Coffman.

Mr. & Mrs. Earl Wical will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on July 9 with an open house at the United Methodist Church in Grundy Center.

Air Force Airman Jeremiah Kock graduated from basic training at Lakeland AFB, San Antonio, Texas.


JULY 4, 1996

A sesquicentennial quilt designed by Michelle Harrison and her mother to be sold on July 3 at the Firemen's Dance.

A stained glass window at the United Church of Christ was dedicated on June 30 in memory of Lester Wieben by his family.

Ron Tordoff to be rehired as deputy sheriff.

Cooper Evans, U.S. Representative, receives distinguished service award for his efforts on behalf of agriculture.

Rupert Brubaker, 94, Reinbeck, died June 25 at Allen Hospital.

Angela Lorenz & Jared Huntington will be married August 10.

Michelle Dudden-Schuman joins Grundy Co. Hospital therapy services.

IES Utilities plan to close Reinbeck's operating facility.


JULY 3, 1986

Kimberly Faudskar & Martin Conradi were married on June 2.

Jan Mumm & Steve Wical were married June 21.

Harold Wiegel, 74, died July 3 of a heart attack.

Virgil White, 87, formerly of Reinbeck & Morrison, died July 5.

Nina Foote, 98, Grundy Center, died July 4.

Jay Dieken, 39, Dike, died June 30 at the VA Hospital in Des Moines.

Burge & Theone Larsen returned home from Allen Hospital where Burge had hip surgery and Theone had both knees replaced.


JULY 15, 1976

A search party of 200 walked fields, fields, roads and ditches in search of George Boelman, 71, who walked away from Parkview. He was found south along the railroad tracks.

Melanie Greiner won a saddle at Ponies of America International show in Estes Park, Colo.

Chris Petersen & Brian Moser received painful injuries after being thrown from a horse at the James Kray farm.

Mr. & Mrs. Dean Thede are parents of a son born July 11.

Margena Butterfield & Kent Goldsberry were married July 10.

Sherman Cooper, 82, died July 12 at Parkview Manor.


JULY 14, 1966

Reinbeck Jaycee's are sponsoring a Big 3 Ring Circus on July 20 at Elmwood Park

LuAnne Moore fell from her back steps and suffered a fractured ankle.

Martin Jacobsen, 79, died July 10.

Tom Emmett was appointed councilman to fill vacancy created by Wayne Schmidt resignation.

Janet Morris of Osceola and Dan Hooper were married June 24.
