Reinbeck Lion's Club presented the Warren Coleman Honorary Award to Gary Karkosh for his commitment to serving the Reinbeck Community.

Mr. & Mrs. Myron Craig will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family picnic on the 4th.

Mr. & Mrs. Buck Petersen will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on July 2 at the United Church of Christ,

Elizabeth (Betsy) DeWolf, 61, Reinbeck, died.

Ethel Campbell, 100, Reinbeck, died June 23 at Parkview Manor.


JUNE 27, 1996

Grundy Co. Supervisors will again ask voters for a decision on a county jail in the general election on Nov. 5.

Sherri Ludvik & Jesse Monk were married April 20 at the Methodist Church in Reinbeck.

Amy Edwards & Jeffrey Ayers, both of Des Moines, were married April 27.

Kurt Leistikow has joined Mike Rickert in his law firm.


JULY 3, 1986

Father Edgar Kolfenbach has taken up residency in Grundy Center to serve Sacred Heart Parish of Grundy Center.

Marilyn Brubaker & Ross Wendell were married June 7.

Tamra Norstad & Randy Oettschen were married on June 7.

Elizabeth Orcutt & Dennis Kroeger were married April 19.

Wm. Kroeger, 89, Lincoln, died June 30.

Mildred Albright, 97, Grundy Center, died June 25.

Mr. & Mrs. Jeff Johnston are parents of a daughter born June 26.


JULY 8, 1976

Holly Witt, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Glenn Witt, was crowned Little Miss Reinbeck.

Dr. Glendon Button, Conrad, was named Grundy Co. Medical Examiner replacing Dr. W.H. Verduyn.

Tim Sweet announced he has joined DeWolf & Beard Law Office.

Rev. Dennis Arndt, pastor at St. John's Lutheran Church, has accepted a call to Blairstown, Iowa.

The Reinbeck Centennial Coin Auction netted $2,550 for 25 coins.

Sgt. & Mrs. Robert Weiss of Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota are parents of a daughter born July 2.

Mr. & Mrs. Jim Bicket are parents of a daughter born July l.

Mr. & Mrs. Robert Miller Charles City are parents of twin boys born July 3.

Ralph Bern, 52, former Lincoln area farmer died in Pesco, Wash. on July 2.

Lyle (Spike) Bean, 66, died July 1 following a short illness.

Kate Lauterbach, 89, Lincoln, died July 7 at Parkview Manor.


JULY 7, 1966

Reinbeck's July 4 celebration drew a tremendous crowd.

Harriett Schafer, 84, Grundy Center, died July 3.

Kathryn Dietrich, Dinsdale & John Plummer, Waterloo, were married June 16.

Parkview Manor to expand to a new addition of 19 beds to cost around $55,000.

Mr. & Mrs. Max Breakenridge observed their 25th wedding anniversary on July 6.
