Comets split with Rebels in late evening

REINBECK - The BCLUW and Gladbrook-Reinbeck baseball teams split a doubleheader Monday in NICL West play. G-R took game one 5-4 in 10 innings, while BCLUW claimed an 8-5 win in the nightcap.

Tyler Chester took the win on the mound for the Rebels (1-2, 1-1) in the opener. Brad Barkema was handed the loss for the Comets (6-3, 4-2). Barkema did have a multi-hit game at the plate in game one.

Josh Sharp collected nine strike outs in the game two win, while not allowing a walk. Ted Switzer knocked out three hits, while Troy Dolphin picked up another two hits.
