News from the Black Hawk Nighthawks 4H

June 12, 2016
Audrey Leyen - Black Hawk Nighthawks reporter , Reinbeck Courier

The Black Hawk Nighthawks 4-H Club held their regular meeting on Saturday, May 14th. Samuel Anderson led the Pledge of Allegiance. The roll call was "Say something you are looking forward to this summer." Emma Fleshner gave the Treasurer's Report.

Next, we talked over dates to work on our Share the Fun skit. It will probably be three or four days that work for Glenda and those dates will be emailed to the rest of the club. We also talked about our garden adoption at the park. Our club submitted an application for a grant to spruce up the area. This application was accepted. Then we discussed dates and times that would work for our trip to the Cedar Valley Arboretum. Mardel reminded the club to think about and start working on projects for the fair. She also encouraged the newer members to ask the more experienced members if they had any questions. Emma Fleshner led the 4-H pledge. After the meeting, our club split up into smaller groups to collect food for the Postal Food Drive in different areas of Reinbeck. A total of 885 lbs. was collected for the local food bank.

Our next meeting will be the outing at the Cedar Valley Arboretum or a Share the Fun work day.
