Alethea Peters

Alethea was born on August 18, 1915 in Waterloo, the daughter of Charles and Cecil Smith Richards.

She married Clarence W. Peters on December 31, 1934, in Waterloo. He died April 26, 1981.

Alethea worked as a telephone operator for 37 years retiring in 1974.

She was a member of the Community Church of Hudson and the Women's Christian Federation. She was also a member of the Rebecca Lodge in Hudson for over 60 years.

Survived by her son, Gordon Peters of Keokuk; daughter-in-law, Rose Peters of Keokuk; 2 grandchildren, Jay Peters of Keokuk and Julie (Dan) Fisher of Quincy, Ill.; 3 great-grandchildren, Michael (Trista) Peters and Amy Peters both of Keokuk, and Kennedi Fisher of Quincy, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Lloyd Loonan of Hudson; and 2 nieces, Carol (Jeff) Dick of Cedar Falls and Leeann (Norm) Armstrong of Round Lake, MN.

Preceded in death by her parents and step father, George Stevens.

Services: 10:30 AM, Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Locke Funeral Home

Burial in Hudson Cemetery

Visitation: One hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Memorials to Hudson Community Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
