G-R prom was held on April 22 at Lincolns Amvets. The theme was Viva Las Vegas.

Lincoln Savings Bank receive Partnership Excellence Award from Clarke American.

Mr. & Mrs. Todd Tyler, Dike, are parents of a daughter born March 31.

Mr. & Mrs. Richard Weber will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in the summer of 2007.

Marion Robertson Boyer will celebrate 30 years of teaching with an open house at the Reinbeck Elementary School on May 7.

Alvin Giesking, 78, died April 20 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D,.

Wayne Shaffer, 87, Reinbeck, died April 17 at Parkview Manor.

Harriet Thede, 72, Reinbeck, died April 21 at the Grundy Hospital.

Evelyn Murray, 67, Hudson, died April 15 at Allen Hospital following heart surgery.

Marguerite Billerbeck, 91, formerly of Lincoln, died April 18.

Virginia Moore, 78, died April 17 at the Long-Term Care Unit in Grundy Center.

Dale Dimmes, 71, Grundy Center, died April 21 at Allen Hospital.

Dick Arends, 91, Grundy Center, died April 16 at Grundy Care Center.

Mr. & Mrs. Luis Lobo, Reinbeck, are parents of a son born April 7.

Mr. & Mrs. Mel Bowen are parents of a daughter born April 15.

Mr. & Mrs. Willys Benson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 28.

Mr. & Mrs. Raymond Thoms, Gladbrook, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on April 28.

Work has begun to remodel the former Snider Equipment Bldg. on Hwy #175 into Robert Dale Furniture operated by Chuck Wildman & Jack Hook.

Katie Copley, 88, Parkview Manor, died May 5.

Amelia Cheeseman, 88, died April 29 at Parkview.

Mr. & Mrs. Don Lau, Waterloo, are parents of a daughter born May 2,

MAY 5, 1966

An explosion was blamed for a fire that burned down the Walterman Imp. Co. in Dike.

Reinbeck Fire Dept. burned down the Walter Thede home to make way for a new home for the Thede's.

Wm. Ballard announces that Raceway is now open.

Frank Venenga, 69, Grundy Co. Supervisor, died April 27.

Don Martin who has been serving the Lincoln Salem Church in Lincoln, will be ordained and installed as Pastor of that Church on May 8.
