APRIL 6, 2006

Jody Thompson and Ben Fogt will be married Sept. 16, the anniversary of their first date.

Mr. & Mrs. Gregg Bearbower, Grainger, Iowa are parents of a daughter born March 22.

Emily Draffen has been chosen by the American Legion Post #242, Aux. Girls State to be held June 18-20.

Pat Scheumann, Reinbeck, 72, died March 26 at Covenant Medical Center.


APRIL 5, 1996

Teri Rokusek, Cedar Falls, has been hired as the elementary Principal.

Gilbert Dahms, 79, Gladbrook, died at the Vets Hospital in Iowa City.

Ann Zweigart and Jason Rannfeldt will be married June 22.


APRIL 10, 1986

One of Reinbeck's oldest homes located on the corner of Center St. & Clark St. was razed. The house was owned by St. John's Luth. Church and was used as the parsonage.

Cletus Lewis, 21, and Daniel Mask, both of Traer and James Luther, 57 Ankeny, were killed in head on collision on Hwy #63 just north of Traer on April 4.

Alice Mayer, 67, Dike, died March 31.

Lloyd Cold, 94, Reinbeck, died March 30.


APRIL 15, 1976

The PA. Wagon train pilgrimage to Valley Forge, PA. stopped overnight in Reinbeck where 2,000 persons attended an organized program by the Reinbeck Centennial Committee.

Mary Syhlman & Mike Staker were married April 10 in Cedar Falls.

Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Schildroth celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with an open house in their home.

John Wieben, 84, died April 9.

Lester Schreck, 61, died April 13.

Bill Raney & Scott Petersen were named to the 1976 Boys State.


APRIL 14, 1966

Reinbeck School Board signed a contract with Ed Scholtens to be the new Jr.-Sr. High School Principal.

Richard Rogers, 20 and Elizabeth Bolin, 19, were seriously injured in a one car accident 3 miles east o Reinbeck.

Bev Hamer will be Reinbeck's representative to Girl's State in June.

Craig Bern, 17, driving a motor scooter collided with a car driven by Mrs. Art Schlicht.

Jaycees Don Keith, Gaylord Billerbeck and Curt Hougan presented their "idea" concerning the possible construction of a new gym.

Tom Emmett won first place in 1966 Cancer Essay Contest.

Mrs. Wesley Gethmann, 77, Gladbrook, died April 8.
