January 24, 2016
Reinbeck Courier

GRUNDY CENTER, IA The Grundy County Memorial Hospital Foundation's 'Snowflakes and Diamonds' Gala is Saturday, February 6, and will feature WHO Channel 13 Chief Meteorologist Ed Wilson as emcee. The evening includes a social hour, dinner, music, raffle, and live, silent, and dessert auctions, plus Wilson's sunny forecast for the Grundy County Memorial Hospital. The event begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Grundy Community Center, and will help support the hospital's project to expand the Specialty Clinics and modernize the second floor.

Signature features of the annual Gala are the Silent and Live Auctions, which include a wide variety of travel packages, gift items, sports memorabilia and tickets to athletic and cultural events. Auctioneer Mark Jungling will preside over a Live Auction that includes a resort vacation, a Florida vacation package including Sea World and Disney World tickets, a landscaping package, car care for a year, and entertainment experiences hosted by local hospital supporters. "Supporting high quality local health care is the ultimate goal of the evening," says Foundation events coordinator Erin Schildroth. "Businesses have been extremely generous with auction items, and there is a great variety of packages to bid on. Plus, our volunteer committee of Kelly Dinsdale, Kate Durbin, Jan Ehrig, Susan Jaspers, Rhonda Samo and Cindy Simms is planning an elegant meal, beautiful dcor, and an overall relaxed and enjoyable evening. The Gala is a perfect way to spend an evening out and support our local hospital," says Schildroth. Silent auction items will be on display in the hospital lobby beginning January 26. A complete list of auction items may be found at www.grundycountyhospital.org.

Tickets for the event are available until January 29 by contacting the hospital Foundation, GCMH_Foundation@unitypoint.org, or phoning Schildroth at 319-824-4147.
