Runner-up lead RebelHawks at home

REINBECK - Tanner Calderwood highlighted the day Saturday for the RebelHawks, finishing second at 220 pounds in a wrestling tournament hosted by the Gladbrook-Reinbeck/North Tama-Grundy Center wrestling team.

Calderwood won four matches on the day, all by pinning his opponent. He pinned Dike-New Hartford's Ethan Huntington in 5 minutes, 8 seconds. Calderwood then pinned West Delaware's Spencer Barron in 3:48, as well as Belle Plaine's Dillon Van Nevel in 2:57. Calderwood was pinned by Mid-Prairie's Levi Duwa, ranked sixth in Class 2A at 220 pounds, in 25 before bouncing back to pin Independence's Drew Evens in 5:14.

Michael Krienert collected three wins for the RebelHawks at 182 pounds, also all by fall. Krienert pinned Waverly-Shell Rock's Samuel Stover (3:39), Belle Plaine's Tyler Arens (3:27) and Independence's Tayten Freidhof (1:12).

The RebelHawk matmen are back in action on Thursday, hosting AGWSR.
