The Memory Tree

December 6, 2015
Reinbeck Courier

Once upon a time back in 2001 a tradition began that continues on each year.

This became an annual event when Rich and Barb Winterroth's daughter, Lori, mentioned that their community did a memory tree and thought it would be a nice tradition to start here. The event starts on the night of Miracle on Main in Reinbeck. Each year ornaments are placed on a tree in memory of a loved one that had passed away. The ornaments are given by the families or friends. Over 300 ornaments have been hung on the trees in the past 15 years. There are now 4 trees decorated with the ornaments, each unique as they represent the loved ones that are being honored. The Christmas trees are on display in Lincoln Savings Bank and remain until after Christmas.

They may be viewed during regular business hours. Along with the Memory Trees are other decorated trees done by local businesses and organizations.
