This letter is to express my heartfelt appreciation to the voters of the Gladbrook-Reinbeck school district for their belief in voting for a Gladbrook voice on the school board. Although the results were not what so many worked hard for, I am honored by your belief in me. The precincts in Tama County had a total of 852 voters cast votes. I am honored that 850 voters put their trust in me. For this, I am most humbled.

It was encouraging to meet so many new people. The campaign process allowed me the opportunity to get to meet many citizens I had not had the privilege to work with before. The importance of the school board vote was obvious by the turn out and demographics of the voters. From long-time residents, to business owners, to first-time and younger voters, the demographic make-up demonstrates how passionate the residents are about the district.

You are encouraged to maintain that passion by staying engaged and informed. Tyler Sash's motto was "Get Better, Not Bitter." Citizens can help the board get better in several ways. One way is to attend meetings. By the time this is published, the next regular school board meeting will be on Thursday, October 16th at 6:30 p.m. in the GR Reinbeck Elementary Campus. Certified enrollments of the Gladbrook-Reinbeck district will be October 1st. These enrollment numbers will direct the district budget for next year. By the October 16th meeting, enrollment information should be available. Plan to attend this meeting. Whether you can attend or not, you may stay informed and receive the same information as the board (i.e. bills paid, agenda, minutes and reports). Requests for the board packets may be made to Board Secretary, Deb Oleson, under the Iowa Open Records law. You may email your request for the Board packet to Deb at: deb.oleson@gr-rebels.net. Stay informed by reading the board minutes online or as published in the local newspapers. Lastly, question. Question board members, administration and secretaries. Board members contact information can be found at www.gladbrook-reinbeck.k12.ia.us/cms. Don't hesitate to reach out to them or Superintendent Mathis (email: jay.mathis@gr-rebels.net) with questions.

Again, please accept this as an expression of my sincere gratitude!
