GLADBROOK - Madison White tossed a three-hit shutout and the Gladbrook-Reinbeck softball team went 2-0 at its own round-robin tournament on Saturday.

White struck out three and did not walk a batter in the Rebels' 2-0 win over Lisbon, while White and Sasha Nagle combined on a four-hitter in a 7-3, five-inning win over GMG that was shortened by the tournament's time-limit rule.

Against Lisbon, Amber Berendes had half of G-R's four hits. The leadoff batter went 2-for-3 with a double, two stolen bases and two runs scored. Hayley Weber and Taylor Gienger both added singles, and Gienger got an RBI.

The same three hitters accounted for G-R's four hits against GMG. Berendes was 2-for-2 with four stolen bases and two runs scored, while Weber was 1-for-3 and Gienger went 1-for-1. The Rebels (3-4) received five walks and stole 11 bases against the Wolverines.

White struck out five and walked one in four innings for the win, allowing three hits. Kelsey Vaverka struck out four and walked five for GMG.

Kyla Wilkening and Vaverka both contributed singles for GMG (1-7), which also lost 15-1 in three innings to Lisbon.

Haley Stahl and Kaitlyn Gill pitched in the loss to Lisbon, combining on seven walks with one strikeout. Mable Dieleman went 1-for-2 at the plate with a run scored, while Vaverka and Sidney Catherwood both were 1-for-1.
