Safe methods to smoking cessation offered

GRUNDY CENTER Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH) will be hosting a free CEU program for nurses, healthcare providers, and community members titled "Nicotine & Tobacco Free is the KeySafe Methods to Smoking Cessation" on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 5:00 6:00 p.m. in the GCMH Education Room (enter at Door #3 on the west side of the hospital).

The program will be presented by Krystle Primus, RN, BSN, certified ALA Freedom from Smoking Instructor, Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab at Grundy County Memorial Hospital. The purpose of the program is to increase participant's knowledge of electronic cigarettes and nicotine and tobacco cessation methods.

The objectives of the program are to:

Identify the effects of nicotine and tobacco on the body. Provide information, the prevalence, and the physiological effects of vapor and chemicals in e-cigarettes. Discuss tobacco cessation methods. Discuss "E-cigarettesa safe alternative to tobacco? Identify insurance coverage for cessation methods available.

This free program has been approved for 0.12 nursing CEUs through Grundy County Memorial Hospital, Iowa Board of Nursing provider number 258. Participants must attend the entire program to receive credit.
