GRUNDY CENTER - A new administrator and director of nursing have been named to serve the Long Term Care unit of Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH). Jordan Wineinger is the new administrator and Tammi Pierce RN is the new director of nursing.

Before moving to Grundy Center, Wineinger served as the administrator of the Stacyville Community Nursing home in Stacyville, Iowa. He is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa, and has also served as a resident coordinator with Western Home Communities in Cedar Falls. Pierce is a registered nurse and has close to 25 years of experience in the nursing field, spending the past five years as Inpatient Department charge nurse at GCMH. She previously served in long term care nursing for nine years and in the home health care setting for ten years.

"We are happy to welcome Jordan and Tammi to their new roles," remarks Brian Kellar, CEO of Grundy County Memorial Hospital. "They each have a solid background in meeting the needs of seniors who are in their care," says Kellar. Wineinger's position with GCMH is shared with the Western Home Communities, where he works half-time. Kellar says the shared administrative position is an innovative way to apply the skills of a licensed nursing home administrator within GCMH's long term care setting. "We're able to take advantage of the expertise that Western Home Communities has in administering various levels of nursing care, and implement new ideas that benefit residents, such as open dining and new communication processes for staff," remarks Kellar. Western Home Communities is a non-profit organization providing retirement living and nursing care in Cedar Falls and other area communities.
