Hospital offers health insurance marketplace help

Enrollment for health insurance through the nation's Affordable Care Act and its Health Insurance Marketplace begins November 15, 2014 and Grundy County Memorial Hospital will offer sign-up assistance to members of the public. Three hospital staff members are trained as Certified Application Counselors (CAC), which means they are able to help people who have questions about the various health insurance options available through the government health insurance program. Certified Application Counselors can help consumers enroll in a health insurance plan by explaining plan options and helping complete a health insurance application.

Appointments with a Certified Application Counselor are free, and may be made by contacting Grundy County Memorial Hospital at 319-824-5081 or 888-824-5081. Appointments will begin November 15, and continue as needed until the deadline for enrolling for health insurance coverage for 2015, which is February 15, 2015. Appointments may take from 30 minutes to 2 hours. It is helpful to have a personal email address available when you attend your appointment to streamline the application process.
