AUGUST 26, 2004

Lisa Thompson and Nathan Barfels were married June 26 at Amity Presbyterian Church.

Bill Davis & Brianne Bachman were married on June 26 at the United Congregational Church in Reinbeck.

Robert Frahm, 82, Reinbeck, died August 18 at Parkview Manor.

Mr. & Mrs. Chuck Freitag are parents of son born July 22.

Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Pastorino, Winterset, are parents of a daughter born August 2.


AUGUST 25, 1994

A rural school house arrives in Reinbeck. The building will be converted into the Country School Antiques run by owner Kathryn Grupp.

Thieves entered two local businesses during the night. M & W was broken into and Harrison's Amoco were entered after breaking a glass. Some money was taken at both places.

Chris shutters, 16, Reinbeck and Wendy Waleski, 16, also of Reinbeck, were involved in an accident on Hwy 175 and West St.

Fred Witt, 86, Reinbeck, died August 16.

Sue Brubaker & Jason Monaghan announce their upcoming marriage.

Sherri Winterroth & Gregory Selenke were married on June 8.


AUGUST 30, 1984

Cathy Bridgewater, Blairstown, and Jeff Storjohann, Reinbeck, were married August 11.

Mr. & Mrs. Curtis Seymour, Marshalltown, are parents of a son born August 22.

Mr. & Mrs. David Freeseman, Parkersburg, are parents of a daughter born August 27.

Loren Pieper, 71, Gladbrook, died August 17.


SEPT. 5, 1974

Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Storjohann have purchased the Alice Ingols property.

Mitchell's Flower Basket announce their grand opening.

Esther Lorenz, 50, died in Des Moines, following a stroke on Sept. 1.

Albert Hoeppner, 84, died August 29.


SEPT. 1964

Reinbeck Lion's Club will give an all expense paid vacation to the World's Fair in conjunction with their annual chicken supper.

Karma Smith-Hoppe will graduate from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Cedar Rapids on Sept. 4.

There will be nine new teachers on the Reinbeck staff for this new school year.

Donna Hopkins and William Cooley were married on August 8 at the United Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck.


SEPT. 1954

Don Wells, manager of Toledo Iowa Electric Light & Power turns over the first shovel of dirt for a new building in Reinbeck.

Jessie A. Parish, died August 10 and had a Will dated July 24, 1954, deeding 240 acre farm north of Reinbeck, to Iowa Senior Academy of Science.

Total Reinbeck school enrollment is 647 students.

Mrs. Mary Boege, 77, died Sept. 1 at her home.

Mr. & Mrs. James Anderson, Beaman, are parents of a son born August 25.

Kenneth Moore, 64, Traer banker, died August 29.


SEPT. 1944

Doris Jipp & Charles Slessor were married August 29.

Bertha Ploog, 60, died August 27.

Dinsdale School opened with 126 students.

Mr. & Mrs. Newton Westergaard are parents of a daughter born August 26.

Nels Sager sold his residence to Virtus Schmidt for $2,700.

John Sienknecht, 58, died August 25 at his home in Clutier.

Chairman Harold Brown asks for help in harvesting the milkweed pod crop. The floss is needed for life jackets.
