First Fifty

August 3, 2014
Reinbeck Courier

On Thursday, August 21 from 7 - 8:30 p.m. the Hearst Center will hold a closing reception for the exhibition First Fifty 2014: Works by Cedar Valley Artists. Live music will be provided by local indie band "Peas & Carrot," featuring musicians Audrey Robinson, Nathan Lantz, and Walt Goodnight. This event is free and open to the public, with refreshments provided by Friends of the Hearst.

The first fifty artists who delivered their ready-to-hang works of art to the Hearst Center when doors opened at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, had their artwork installed in First Fifty 2014. The closing reception will give art lovers another opportunity to see this high-profile exhibit before it closes. First Fifty features artwork in a variety of mediums such as pyrography, acrylic, charcoal, and collage.

Reinbeck residents Marion Boyer and Ginny Poppen will have artwork on display.
