LSI hires community outreach manager

July 27, 2014
Reinbeck Courier

Waterloo, Iowa-LSI (Lutheran Services in Iowa) has hired Amy Dutton as community outreach manager, a new position responsible for coordinating outreach efforts for LSI's pediatric integrated health services in Black Hawk and Grundy counties.

In April, LSI launched Pediatric Integrated Health, a new approach to comprehensive health care services for children with severe emotional disorders. Dutton will work with health professionals and other referral sources to connect families who are a good fit for this service with LSI's team of medical, mental health and peer support professionals who can provide coordinated care.

"When a child has a severe emotional disorder, managing their mental and physical health needs is not easy. Pediatric integrated health offers enormous benefits to these families by organizing the best possible care, but very few people know that this service is available," said Jan Pratt, director of pediatric integrated health.

"With Amy's many years of marketing and leadership experience, we are confident she'll help LSI boost this important program for the Cedar Valley families who need it most," Pratt added.

Dutton will also work with medical, human service and government professionals to promote LSI's full array of services, which include child abuse prevention and parenting education, services to families, services for people with disabilities and residential treatment.

Dutton has 20 years of management experience, most recently serving as director of operations for the Northeast Iowa Food Bank in Waterloo. Prior, she served as general manger and senior marketing manager for College Square Mall in Cedar Falls.

LSI is one of Iowa's largest human services agencies and impacts tens of thousands of Iowans annually through child abuse prevention, services for families and youth in crisis, services for people with disabilities and refugee services. LSI is nationally accredited and serves people of all ages, genders, nationalities, religions, ethnicities and sexual orientations. To learn more, visit www.LSIowa.org.
