Summer reading is off to a good start. Our next event will be held on Wednesday, June 25th at the Memorial Building. "Rocket Man" Bob Windt will do the program at 1:00. This is free and open to the public; geared toward our summer reading participants sixth grade and under.

Reinbeck Woman's Club recently gave the library donations for summer reading and new materials. This was applied to prize books for children and the following new DVDs: Anchorman 2, August: Osage County, A Birder's Guide to Everything, Grace Unplugged, Homefront, The Monuments Men, Philomena, The Pirate Fairy, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Walking With the Dinosaurs.

We also have a new audio book on CD purchased with memorial money for Berniece Frahm given by Gloria Breakenridge: Walking on Water by Richard Paul Evans.

New books include two large print titles: The Funeral Dress by Susan Gregg Gilmore and Vatican Waltz by Roland Merullo.

Other new books are Survival on the Rosebud Indian Reservation by David Clifford Greiser, Everybody Has Something by Robin Roberts and A Family Affair by Fern Michaels.

OverDrive is trying a new promotion this month. During June, if the NEIBORS Consortia increases circulation by 25% over its best month they will receive $1,500 in content credit to build the collection. If it is increased by 50%, they will receive $2,500. That's a lot of new books (ebooks and audio) for the collection. Our library is part of the NEIBORS program, so we are especially trying to promote it this month. Those of you who are local patrons of the library may access the program through our library website. www.reinbeck.lib.ia.us. Go to the neibors tab and register with your library card number. You may download up to three audio and or ebooks at a time. For those of you already using the program, keep it up! We especially encourage use this month in order to have more titles to select from.
