Our annual summer reading program for kids in the sixth grade and under is now underway. The theme this year is "Fizz Boom Read!" and we have the following programs lined up, all held at the Memorial Building: Friday, June 13: Magic program by Rick Eugene at 2:00 p.m. ; Wednesday, June 18: Story teller, musician Mike Anderson "The Dulcimer Guy" at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 25: "Rocket Man" Bob Windt at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 2: "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" (wind energy program by staff of UNI) at 2:00; and Wednesday, July 9: conservationist Cole Anderson at 2:00. These programs are free and open to the public.

Children who want to take part in summer reading may stop in at the library to sign up and get time logs to keep track of their reading on. Those who read 8 hours or more by July 19 will receive a book to keep and a coupon for a free movie rental or an ice cream or fresh fruit treat at Truncks and a chance at winning a variety of prizes. Those who read at least one hour have a chance at winning a prize in a drawing which will be held after the program is over. The prizes are currently on view in the library display case. Stop in and have a look!
