Governor Vilsack honors school employee Pam Heithoff at a special ceremony for school support staff on May 15 in Des Moines.

Mr. & Mrs. Ryan Folkerts, Reinbeck, are parents of a daughter born May 12.

Deputy Sheriff, Wm. Jorgensen receives 10 year service award.

Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Beenken will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on June 6th.

Loretta Konicek, 79, Clutier, died May 25 at Covenant Medical Center.

John Sedlacek, 86, Clutier, died May 30 at Grandview Acres Care Center in Toledo.

Elizabeth Stirler, 95, Grundy Center, formerly of Reinbeck, passed away May 26 at Allen Hospital.

Nathan Cowell, Reinbeck, has been awarded scholarships from Buena Vista University for 2004-2005 academic year.

Verne Schildroth, 56, Tripoli, died June 15 at Allen Hospital.

Fern Brubaker, rural Reinbeck, will celebrate her 80th birthday on June 26.

Mr. & Mrs. Everett Bown will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on July 1l.

Jeremy Myli earns his rank of Eagle Scout, scouting highest award, on June 26.

Chris Allen and Nicole Vieth, both of Reinbeck, were bike winners at Sandi's Foods.

JUNE 28, 1984

Kurt Youngblut, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene 2 miles south of Reinbeck on June 21 after being electrocuted south of Reinbeck while attempting to raise some high voltage wires so that a round metal grain bin being hauled on a flatbed could pass under.

Cheryl Lehr, Hudson city clerk, since Jan. 1973 submitted her resignation following a state audit of city books and told authorities she has been stealing considerable amounts of money from the city.

Tom Folkerts, 39, Renton, Wash., formerly of Reinbeck, peddled his 18 speed bike 1,760 miles from his home in Wash. to his mother's apartment in Dike.

Kim Marten & James Thede were married June 15.

Ed Heerts, 78, Grundy Center died June 21.

Floyd Barfels wins $1,500 bankroll at Ernie's Super Valu.

Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Davis purchased the Vernon Miller home.

Mr. & Mrs. John Hicks of Mt. Vernon, Ill. are parents of a daughter.

Rodney Slessor and Carla Digerness were married in New Brighton, Minn. on June 24.

Henry Helmers, 54, died in a farm accident on June 24.

Theo Brandt resigned as school janitor and then was rehired again.
