Native perennials gardening class

May 25, 2014
Reinbeck Courier

Grundy County Extension and Outreach & Kling Memorial Library are joining together to offer an introductory gardening class all about native perennials for sun and shade. Class will be held Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 6:00 7:00 p.m. at the Kling Memorial Library.

When selecting perennials for sunny locations in the home landscape, many gardeners immediately think of peonies, daylilies and bearded irises. However, native plant species shouldn't be neglected. A number of native perennials also perform well in the home landscape.

Grundy County Extension Director Shari Sell-Bakker will be presenting all about the many options for gardeners in Iowa to plant native perennials for both sun and shade!

This program is being offered at no charge thanks to generous donations by Kling Memorial Library and Grundy County Extension & Outreach. Please call the Grundy County Extension office at 319-824-6979 to register. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.
