Phyllis Ayers, 81 of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Lincoln, Iowa passed away April 19, 2014 in Tonopah, Ariz.
Phyllis was born February 15th, 1933 in Waterloo, Iowa to Charles and Edna Wolf. She was raised and attended school in Evansdale, Iowa.
On April 1st 1953 she was united in marriage to Bill Ayers in Waterloo, Iowa. There were 3 children born to this union. They made their home and raised their family in Lincoln, Iowa. In 1995 they retired and moved to Scottsdale, Ariz.
Phyllis was employed by Norwesco in Grundy Center, Iowa retiring after 27 years of service.
She enjoyed crocheting afghans, spending time with her husband Bill, children, grandchildren, and trips to Laughlin, Nev.
Phyllis is survived by two sons, Perry (Bethany) Ayers, Tonopah, Ariz., Richard Ayers, Scottsdale, Ariz., one daughter, Annette (Keith) Porter, Lebanon, Ind. Brother, Merle Wolf, Waterloo, Iowa. Grandchildren, Katrina (Aaron Bury) Ayers, Benjamin Ayers, Heather Ayers, Rachel Ayers, Jennifer (Brian) Hansen. Step grandchildren, David Sager, Adam Sager, Joey Sager, Kenny (Barbie) Porter, Bonnie (Blake) Huggins.
Great-grandchildren, Braydon Ayers and Tatum Hansen. Step great grandchildren, Wyatt Sager, Alexis Sager, Braiden Sager and many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Bill, parents, Charles and Edna, Brother, Lawrence, mother & father in law, Maggie and Charles Campbell, Brother in-laws Benjamin & Howard Ayers, sister-in-law, Beatrice Chalmers.
Memorial services were held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 25th at National Memorial Cemetery of Ariz. Phoenix, Ariz.
