LSB donates $100,000 to new pool project.

2004 Rebel Athletic Banquet cites outstanding athletes. Christine Weissenfluh was presented a plaque for her dedication and many hours as manager/statistician for football, wrestling and cross country teams.

Sean Williams and Shauna Woebbeking won the Verlyn Rysdam Memorial Award. Shauna Woebbeking was best offensive player and Allison Volkens was best defensive player.

Dylan Jans & Ian Wrage were named recipients of Dennis McGowan Wrestling Award. Kelly Dinsdale was named 2004 Volunteer of the Year Award.

Treva Junker and Nathan Boege are engaged and planning an April 17 wedding at the United Methodist Church in Grundy Center.

Amy Hall & Steve McHenry, Jr. will be married on May 15 at United Methodist Church in Reinbeck.

Breanna Bachman & Bill Davis, both of Reinbeck, will be married on June 26 at the United Church of Christ in Reinbeck.

Mr. & Mrs. Ron Mastin will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 25 with an open house at Oak Leaf Country Club.

Lisa Helland was initiated into Iowa State University Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma.

Mina Knaack, 62, Gladbrook, died April 3 at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook.

Shirley E. Eriksen, 79, Reinbeck, died April 12 at Westbrook Acres in Gladbrook.

APRIL 14, 1994

Approximately 150 high school juniors from Gladbrook-Reinbeck, Green Mt., South Tama and North Tama experienced a look at how local government works.

Paul Plaehn receives special volunteer award from Gov. Terry Branstad on April 22 at North Iowa Community College in Mason City.

Mr. & Mrs. Jeff Runde are parents of a daughter born April 7.

Amy McNabb, Latimer, and Don Jobens, Ames, will be married July 30 at St. Mary's Church in Vinon.

Patti Witt & Thomas G. Striewig will be married May 28 at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Reinbeck.

Matilda Karkosh, 85, Reinbeck, died April 6 at Covenant Medical Center.

Bernice Wumkes, 63, Waverly, passed away April 6 at University of Iowa Hospital.

Walter Gethman, 50, Gladbrook, died April 7 at his home.

Sandy Spiers, 78, Traer, died April 7 at Covenant Medical Center.

Charley Jesina, 77, Traer, died April 8 at Sunrise Care Center in Traer.

Navy Petty Officer, 1st Class Robert E. Harms, son of Mr. & Mrs. Ed Harms, recently deployed to the Western Pacific.

Mr. & Mrs. Craig Stewart are parents of a daughter born April 23.

Ollie DeBerg, 70, Reinbeck, died April 19.

New Reinbeck Lion's consist of Darwin Finke, Carroll Freed, Paul Plaehn, Ralph Marken, David Hite, Lowell Rasmussen, George Brubaker & Bob Hoffman.

The coveted James Kelsey, M.D. 1984 Award has been given to Dennis Weis, M.D. at the Reinbeck Family Health Center.

Jamie Roster and Michelle Hilt will be married July 21 at the United Methodist Church.

Dorinda Manlick and Bruce Nederhoff will be married on June 16 at St. John's Lutheran Church.

APRIL 25, 1974

Pretiss Print will begin printing the Reinbeck Courier and several other papers on the new press and compugraphic typesetting equipment.

Wm. Mutch, 88, Grundy Center died April 21.

Oak Leaf Country Club begins construction of a new modern 50x100 club house.

Mr, & Mrs. Kendall Walters are parents of a daughter born April 4.

Susan Landtiser and Mel Junge were married on April 20.

Harry Redfearn, 72, died April 13.

Fred Witt, 65, Reinbeck, was injured in a fall from scaffolding at Emil Linder's new home.

APRIL, 1964

Firemen were called to 2 minor fires over the week-end. A grass fire at Ralph Creswell and James Stephenson farm where a trash fire got out of control.

The 2 story brick bank bldg. in Dinsdale built in 1912 is being torn down.

Mrs. Glen McClure, 41, Reinbeck, died April 20.

Fred Wolthoff, 74, died April 15.

60 YEARS AGO

APRIL, 1954

Clark Fleming's right arm became entangled in a feed mixer while doing chores at the Melvin Simonsen's farm east of Reinbeck. He was severely cut and torn.

Aviation Cadet Everett Wrage graduated from pre-flight training at Lakeland Air Force Base in Texas.

Helen Mennenga & Robert Cavanaugh were married on April 30.

70 YEARS AGO

APRIL, 1944

Mr. & Mrs. Ed Harms are parents of a daughter born April 8.

Herman Petersen has purchased the Virtus Schmidt home for $2,000.

Reinbeck turkey farmers Mr. & Mrs. John Schlicht, southeast of town , is in operation with 4,500 turkey poults at .85 cents each.
