Each year 100 Great Iowa Nurses are honored at a ceremony, created for the state of Iowa, by nurse and community leaders. This award recognizes nurses for making a meaningful and lasting contribution to humanity and our profession. This Great Nurse is also viewed as a mentor to others and exemplifies all of the principles on which the 100 Great Iowa Nurses celebration was founded.
This year, Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH) is proud to announce that one of their own, Theresa Borcherding, RN, Telehealth Nurse, is a recipient of this prestigious award for 2014.
Theresa has been very instrumental in getting our telehealth program launched and utilized as well as serving in many other roles within the hospital including working as a nurse in our specialty clinic and emergency departments as well as conducting pulmonary function tests. She is also an instructor for BLS and Safe Sitter classes.
