March 23, 2014
Reinbeck Courier

In honor of National Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week, Grundy County Memorial Hospital (GCMH) would like to take this opportunity to reach out to you with the services we provide. GCMH offers an outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program aimed at helping you take control of your lung health. Our program is nurse-supervised and focuses on developing an individualized exercise routine while providing each participant and their family with the tools to manage symptoms and slow the progression of their disease process. Management of symptoms is key to optimal treatment of lung disease so that those affected are able to continue to live life to the fullest.

If you have lung disease, we can help facilitate with your physician and insurance company to make rehabilitation possible. If you smoke and are interested in gaining support to quit, GCMH offers smoking cessation counseling with staff trained and certified by the American Lung Association in Freedom from Smoking. In GCMH's aim to provide continued emotional support, a pulmonary support group has been developed which meets quarterly. The next Grundy Area Pulmonary Support Group will meet on Monday, April 7, 2014 from 5:00 6:30 p.m. in the GCMH Education Room. Please use Entrance #3 on the west side of the hospital.
