Senator Chuck Grassley held a town meeting on March 16 at the Grundy Co. Memorial Hospital.

Verda Wrage was the winner of a year's supply of bananas at Trunck's.

Dorothy Mulder will turn 99 on March 24. A card shower is planned.

Ashley Goeman and Josh Petersen were married on Dec. 20 at the United Methodist Church in Belmond.

Mr. & Mrs. Mark Petersen are parents of a daughter born March 10.

Mr. & Mrs. Jeff Greiner are parents of twin boys born March 8.

Harley Freese, 83, Wellsburg, died March 14 at the Grundy Co. Memorial Hospital.

John Duffy, 82, died March 13 at the VA Center in Iowa City.

Rhea Nederhoff, 71, Wellsburg, died March 8 at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley.

Mildred Karkosh, 84, Reinbeck, died March 14 at Sunrise Hill Care Center.

Phyllis Duncan, 74, Reinbeck, died March 9.

LeRoy B. Schultz, 69, Reinbeck, died March 11 at Covenant Medical Center.

Amanda Wical & Steven Wical, Grundy Center, have been recognized nationally by American Angus Association for having two registered angus cows.

Jennifer Brandt and Matthew Cooper plan wedding for May 21 at the United Church of Christ.

Remmer Eckhoff, 65, Reinbeck, died March 20.

Mary Thomsen, 79, Gladbrook, died March 15.

Paige Mumm, 7, Hudson, died as results of injuries received in a two vehicle accident in Hudson on March 20.

Rev. Susan Cluts is the new pastor at Salem Church in Lincoln.

Services for Mabel Meyers, 85, Grundy Center, were held on March 23.

Mr. & Mrs. Doug Davis bought the house of Mr. & Mrs. Alfred Storjohann for $35,000.

Craig Koht & David Volkens were selected to attend Boys State in Des Moines.

Cindy Eiffler and Craig Stuber were married March 16 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Mr. & Mrs. Ronald Ruth are parents of a son born March 21.

Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Weaverling are parents of a son born March 29.

Mr. & Mrs. Edon DeVries are parents of a son born March 31.

Anna Ramundt, 82, died March 28 at Schoitz Hospital.

Leonard Brandt, 36, while working on Lloyd Runft farm got his coveralls caught in a power take off. D.E. Richter quickly shut off the power take off. Leonard is listed in good condition at a Waterloo hospital.

George Hauser, Clinton, joins the Morrison Coop as assistant manager and will also act as farm representative.

APRIL, 1954

Herman Volberding, 77, Dike, died March 30 at his home.

Florence Hansen & Dr. Ralph Brenninger were married March 19 in Fresco, Calif.

Dave Keith, Hudson, will run for his 2nd term as Blackhawk Co. Supervisor.

E.F. Smoldt wins Mayor post along with councilmen: V.D. Webrand, O.H. Merten, C.H. Bartruff, Peter Jacobsen and Charles Robinson.

Albert Bern, 53, died March 28 following a long illness.

Lt. Donald Dirks flew his B17 over Reinbeck from Beloit, Wisc. to Hobbs, N.M.

Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Ohrt are parents of a son born March 25.

Mr. & Mrs Donald Schildroth are parents of a son born March 28.
