News from the Black Hawk Nighthawks 4-H club

March 16, 2014
Black Hawk Nighthawks reporter Sadie Brockett , Reinbeck Courier

The Black Hawk Nighthawks 4-H Club held their regular meeting on Saturday, February 9th, the roll call was to say something red.

Malissa provided an activity prior to the start of the meeting, where we passed a ball of saran wrap with pieces of candy scattered throughout it around our circle. When it was our turn, we tried to get out as many pieces of candy as we could before the person next to us rolled doubles on the dice, then we had to pass the ball on to the next person.

We signed up for presentations, and Share the Fun. We also picked up Younkers Community Day books to sell, for February 28th and March 1st. Then, Malissa talked about the idea of having meeting hosts, which means they will be there 10 minutes early and bring/coordinate activity and bring treats. She also reminded everyone to fill in our meeting record sheet and to remember our January time at Park View. We need to attend at least four meetings in order to show at fair. We also signed up to bring items to the County Omelet Breakfast, which will be held on Sunday, March 30th at the Extension Office in Grundy Center. FSQA training will be held at 9:00 a.m. on March 22nd, and 6:30 p.m. on April 7th. Andrea will attend our April meeting to talk about copyright information, sources, changes for fair, and any other questions we have.

Paul Brockett did a presentation about the History of the United States Nickel. And we talked about different designs for our pillow people for our Share the Fun skit.

Our next meeting will be on Sunday, March, 9th at the Reinbeck Elementary at 5:00.
