The annual museum event will happen this Sunday, March 9 at the Grundy County Heritage Museum in Morrison from 1 to 4 PM.
This year, the sponsors are pleased to be hosting Pippa White as the featured entertainment at 2 PM. Although from Nebraska, Pippa is no stranger to Iowa having performed several of her shows right here at the museum in previous engagements. Pippa brings a brand new production to the event Sunday. The program is entitled On Our Own Soil and lets America's citizens, both from the North and the South tell what it was like to live through our countries greatest upheaval. Soldiers, nurses, children, generals, townsfolk, all weigh in to share their stories and their experiences as war became a way of life for our country for four years. Whether in uniform or not, everyone was touched by war On Our Own Soil.
For anyone who has not had the privilege of seeing Pippa perform, she has a love of dialects and accents, which she tries to incorporate into her shows to the delight of audiences of all ages.
The event is free and everyone is welcome to come view the exhibits, see the newly installed audiovisual equipment in both meeting spaces, and of course, enjoy Pippa White's performance of On Our Own Soil. Oh, and refreshments will be served throughout the afternoon.
The Grundy County Heritage Museum is jointly operated by the Grundy County Conservation Board and Historical Collections of Grundy County.
