The Renovation Club has placed recycling receptacles in various places in the G-R School for papers to be recycled.

Trunck's are now marketing milk from Hansen's Farm Fresh Dairy of Hudson.

Grundy Co. landfill employee Jerry Schoolman, receives award for 15 years of service at the landfill.

Lt. Cpl. Jessica Smith and Jason Wells will be married March 6 in Atlantic Beach, N.D.

Mildred Witt will observe her 95th birthday on March 4.

Mr. & Mrs. Bill Koch will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on March 13 with a card shower.

Fern Rickert, 86, Grundy Center, died Feb. 18 at Allen Hospital.

Minerva Karkosh, 101, Reinbeck, passed away Feb. 18 a Parkview.

Ruth Strohbehn, 75, Reinbeck, died Feb. 21 at Parkview.

Wayne Sienknecht, 86, Gladbrook, died Feb. 19 at the Long-Term Care Unit at the Grundy Co. Hospital.

Marcia Goffinet daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Jim Petersen has earned recognition from the American Association of Medical Transcriptionists as now being a certified Medical Transcriptionist.

Ian Wrage, heavyweight wrestler, moves onto State Tournament for Reinbeck.

Ryan Woebbeking, Gladbrook, was elected President of Kirkwood College Agricultural Business Club at the annual Banquet held on Feb. 19.

Mary Wieben, 98, Reinbeck, died Feb. 24.

Bertha Mumm, 93, Reinbeck, died Feb. 26.

Kelly Shippy & Eric Folkerts announce wedding plans for April 16.

Mildred Witt, Reinbeck, will turn 85 on March 4.

Lucille Storjohann will observe her 80th birthday on March 6.

Amy Kirschoch of Clearwater, Fla. & David Hulme of Tarpon Springs, Fla. were married Dec. 3 in Tarpon Springs, Fla.

The G-R Varsity girls basketball team is going to State Tournament.

Reinbeck Fire Department has purchased a new type 111 Emergency Unit.

Delores Petersen, 59, formerly of Reinbeck, died on March 6.

Reinbeck Masons honor Ed Sieh as Grand Steward.

Beryl & Charlene Manlick won $400 at Ernie's Supper Valu Bankroll.

Ida Purvis, 95, Grundy Center, died Feb. 27 at Long-Term Care Unit at the Grundy Hospital.


MARCH 4, 1974

Cindy Plaehn, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Paul Plaehn received her student nursing cap at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

Mrs. Gerhard Beenken won $500 bankroll at Ernie's Super Valu.

State Representative Harold "Grumpy" Fischer announces that he will not run for re-election of the Iowa House of Representatives.

Chris Roberts, Reinbeck, purchased the Unrau Estate house at 306 Randall. He will tear down the property and construct a 4 plex apartment unit.

Mr. & Mrs. Walter Mytych are parents of a son born Feb. 7.

Charles Ladd, 59, formerly of Reinbeck, died at Independence.

James F. Anderson, 73, Voorhies, died at his home on March 4.

Richard Barr, formerly of Reinbeck, now of Grundy Center, announced his candidacy on the Republican ticket for Grundy Co. Attorney.

John Bolt, 78, Dinsdale, died at his home on March 8.

The train depot in Dinsdale closed up this week.

The incumbent school board directors, Roger DeWolf and B. Lyle Robinson, were elected over opponents Walt Thede and James Keith.

Mr. & Mrs. John Westergaard are parents of a son born March 4.
