Grundy Co. Barn Quilts project ties into tourism.

LaShay Wiebensohn and Jeremy Brubaker were married Nov. 22, 2003 in Lincoln.

Sarah Sparks and Derek Bruner were married Dec. 20 at the First Baptist Church in Marshalltown.

Warren B. Tomlinson, 85, died Feb. 9 at the Grinnell Medical Center.


FEB. 24, 1994

Lyle Johannsen, 67, Gladbrook, died Feb. 15.

Greta Klink, 94, Gladbrook, died Feb. 21.

The new Reinbeck Open Shelter House will be built by the Reinbeck Lion's Club.

Donna Brandt won the Pepsi-Fill, the Fridge Contest at Sandie's Foods.

Jamie Smock, a wrestler for the Rebel Hawks, will be going to State.

Ken Storjohann, Reinbeck, has announced he is resigning as Chairperson of the Grundy Co. Central Committee.

Alma Lemke, 98, formerly to Reinbeck, died Feb. 27 at Sartori Hospital.

Susan Heideman and Gary DeVries will be married on June 16 at the United Congregational Church in Reinbeck.

Gladys Bakker, 80, Morrison, died Feb. 27 at Parkview.

John McGowan, 67, Gladbrook, died Feb. 25 at the Vets Auditorium while attending a high school wrestling tournament in Des Moines.

Duane Jans, Sr., 65, died at Allen Hospital on Feb. 28.

Louise Lampe, 87, Reinbeck, died Feb. 22 at Americana Health Care Center.

C.J. Murphy, 93, formerly of Reinbeck, died Feb. 22.

Susan Voigt, daughter of Bob & Margaret Voigt, has enlisted in the U.S. Navy "Delay Program" with a school guarantee of Ocean Systems Technician.


MARCH 7, 1974

Steven Farris, 23, a student at University of Iowa, in Iowa City died of a gun shot wound.

Mr. & Mrs. Greg Brandt are parents of a daughter.

Mr. & Mrs. Bill Brown are parents of a daughter born March 3 in Marshalltown.

John Peters, 74, Dike, died following surgery on Feb. 1 at Allen Hospital.

Loran Albert receives 50 year Masonic Certificate.

Emma Storey, 84, died March 5 following a stroke.


MARCH, 1964

Frank Wyatt has been selected as one of the four Iowa boy delegates to attend Camp Minniwanca Leadership Training Camp operated by the American Youth Federation in Shelby, Mich.

Sieba Mennenga, 69, died March 1.

Toby Larsen, Jr., announced his candidacy as Democrat for supervisor in Tama County.

Richard Claussen who has been managing the Sinclair Station on Grundy Ave. the past several months has sold the station to Carl Schick.

Mr. & Mrs. Ray Cummings, Morrison, observed their 50th wedding anniversary on March 11.

Kathryn Staveley, Reinbeck, and James Manley of Lake View were married on Feb. 23.

Mr. & Mrs. Dale McIntyre are parents of a son born Feb. 28.

Dr. & Mrs. Paul Ehrig are parents of a son born Feb. 29.

Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Thede are parents of a son born Feb. 28.

Mayor R.C. Shoup has appointed John Grimm as the new night watchman. He is replacing Henry Bern.

Elmer Gauger, 58, died March 2 of a heart attack.

Mr. & Mrs. Glenn Whitlock, Morrison, are parents of a son born March 12.

Mr. & Mrs. Clifford Anderson are parents of a daughter born March 3.

Mr. & Mrs. Melvin Hepperle are parents of a son born Feb. 22.

Mr. & Mrs. R. B. Ehlers, Hudson, are parents of a son born Feb. 27.


MARCH, 1944

Henry Frei, Jr. announced he will run for office of State Representative of Grundy County.

The Boy Scouts under the direction of Donald Porter, are making and will place sign boards with the names of streets on every street in Reinbeck.

Mr. & Mrs. Carl Bern have purchased the Charles Archer estate home for $4,500.
