Case announces run for County Recorder

February 23, 2014
Reinbeck Courier

GRUNDY CENTER Travis Case announced that he will run for the office of Grundy County Recorder in the June 3rd Republican Primary Election. Case, a native of Beaman, cites a desire to serve the public and his past experience as reasons for deciding to run.

"I've worked as an Assistant and Deputy in the Marshall County Auditor and Recorder's office for the past six years. I've been appointed by the Recorder's Association to serve on the statewide technology committee as well as being elected to a leadership position within our local district. I have a comprehensive knowledge of the duties of the office of County Recorder and can hit the ground running from day one. Being able to use my experience to give back to the county I grew up in just feels like the right thing to do."

Case was a part of the 2011 graduating class of the State Election Administrator Training program and more recently part of the first group of Recorders and Deputy Recorders to complete the Iowa County Recorder's Association Certification Program in November 2013.

Case says as Recorder he will continue to provide the great service Grundy County residents are used to as well as look for ways to apply technology to find efficiencies and improve the customer experience. "I have a bit of a technology background and believe there are many ways you can apply technology to streamline processes. Finding ways to perform the tasks of the office more efficiently translates to saving tax payer dollars."

Case is married to his wife, Stephanie who works as a nurse for McFarland Clinic. Both are graduates of BCLUW in Conrad. They have two sons, Owen (5) and Ezra (1). Case can also be found many weekends filling his chair behind the drums in the popular local band, Loose Neutral.
