Terry Plocher did story time on January 28. He read stories and had activities about being kind. The next story time will be held at 10:00 a.m on Tuesday, February 11. Michele Knaack will do the program.
Also on that Tuesday, the library is sponsoring a book talk by Grundy Center author, Sandra Noble. She will read a chapter from her book, The Fat Woman Mystery, talk about her writing and answer questions. This event will take place from 2:00 to 3:00 at Westview Estates. It is free and open to the public.
The book discussion groups will meet at Westview on Wednesday, February 19. The afternoon group will meet from 4:00 to 5:00 and discuss The Silver Star by Jeannette Walls and the evening group will meet from 6:00 to 7:00 and discuss Shell Games by Jeffrey Copeland. If you would like to take part and need a copy of a book, contact the library.
Last Wednesday, several people stopped in with tech questions for high school student Tyler Wrage. Tyler will be here from 2:00 to 3:00 on Wednesdays that school does not get out early to do troubleshooting and program installation for those in need. This is a free service that we hope people will take advantage of.
New items at the library this week include an audio CD of Cross My Heart by James Patterson, and the following books: a large print edition of Where Courage Calls by Janette Oke, which is given in memory of Shirley Randall from Gloria Breakenridge and Randy and Donna Evenson; and regular print editions of With Autumn's Return by Amanda Cabot, A Little Bit of Charm and The Quaker and the Rebel both by Mary Ellis, The Calling by Suzanne Woods Fisher, Minding Molly by Leslie Gould, A Promise Kept by Robin Lee Hatcher, Beowulf by Ronie Kendig, The Dancing Master by Julie Klassen, The Headmistress of Rosemere by Sarah Ladd, All Things Hidden by Tracie Peterson, Echoes of Mercy by Kim Vogel Sawyer, Love's Sweet Beginning by Ann Shorey and Wildwood Creek by Lisa Wingate.
