Carlena Schiller, Grundy Center, died Jan. 18 at the Grundy Care Center. Hans Muller, 82, Grundy Center, died Jan. 28 at the Grundy Care Center.

Mr. & Mrs. Matthew Martin, Marshalltown, are parents of a daughter born Jan. 27.

Tracy Tann & Todd Schueman were married Nov. 20, 1993, at Zion Lutheran Chuch in Waterloo.

FEB. 14, 1974

A $300,000 suit was filed in Grundy Co. District Court as a result of the death of a Wellsburg man, David M. Harms, by Dennis Harms, Marshalltown, administrator for his brother's estate. Defendant in the action is Murray Hendricks, Reinbeck, driver of the auto on Sept. 1, 1973 when Harms was killed and also three owners of Poppy's Lounge of Waterloo.

Mr. & Mrs. Gary Martinson are parents of a daughter.

T. Cooper Evans of Grundy Center has been re-elected and Virgil Wulf newly elected to the Grundy Co. Hospital Board. Wulf is replacing Don Keith who did not run for re-election.

Mitch Appliances on Broad St. is quitting business after 20 years the store is closing. Present owners are Mr. & Mrs. John Brandhorst.

The sale of Voorhies Grain Co. owned by Edward & Lucille Karkosh has been completed to Quaker Oats Co. Gary Karkosh who has been assistant manager will become the manager.

William Tessau Sr. 69, Lincoln, died Feb. 11.

Mr. & Mrs. Julius Staker, Lincoln, observed their 62nd wedding anniversary on Feb. 12.

Mr. & Mrs. Ivan Flater, Holland, are parents of a son born Feb. 9.

Sharon Seaton and Stuart A. Petersen were married on Feb. 8.



Neil Beck, 20, and Mark Segebarth, 20, Reinbeck Courier printers, were seriously injured in an auto crash at the T intersection south of Reinbeck on the Ridge Road.

Reinbeck Memorial Bldg. is ready for use as Wayne Bean released a full schedule starting Feb. 13.

Mr. & Mrs. Claude Smith will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 12.

Shirley Barfels and Donald Moye, both of Reinbeck, were married on Feb. 7.

T.E. Evans, part owner of the Reinbeck Canning Co. has been elected director of the National Canners Association.

Evelyn D. Vogt and G.R. Stewart of Hampton were married Feb. 4.

Mary Neil, 69, died at home on Feb. 6.

Lieutenant Don Dinsdale received his silver wings on Feb. 8 at the Army Air Force Pilot School at Stockton Field, Calif.
